Deafness & Cycling

J is going deaf in one of his ears according to the Doc. He may even have to wear a hearing aid. We don’t want this to affect his cycling much but it may mean that he will need to do more side street or off road cycling. This will be a lot safer for all cyclists if they did that! So maybe this problem may not be such a major problem at all. We can also avoid more lorries and that can be a good thing. Snag is that if he goes off into the distance without me, he won’t listen to me shouting! I may have to get a whistle or something.. he will think I treat him like dog though:-).

He said he will contact the RNID, the deaf organisation for some advice.
