Britain’s Tarmac War: Lorries causing carnage in Islington again, and again, and again.. and

What a crap idea it is to allow 18 Tonne Lorries to be used in London’s busy streets. They are not fit to be in them. How on earth did their design get accepted? These large vehicles are designed for MOTORWAYS. Even a tank is smaller and you never see them on the roads.

Get these huge great lorries off our streets Now!

From the Islington Gazette today:-

“A SHOPPER died after being crushed under the wheels of an 18-tonne lorry – leaving her carrier bags and trolley scattered in the street.

The pensioner had just visited Borders and Marks & Spencer when she stepped out on to a pedestrian crossing in Upper Street, Islington, around midday on Tuesday.

Within seconds, she was in collision with a six-wheeled Iveco Eurocargo – ending up under its front wheels”

  1. That is Sick,it should not happen should be Banned off the Streets. Those Streets were not made for that type of Traffic, which was Laid down in the Days of the Horse and Cart. Should be a 3 Tonne Limit on Lorries in London and other Cities.

With a Dispensation with Permit for Offloading Heavy Goods in the Early Morning before 10 am and after 12 pm at Night, and then only a certain amount of them to be given Access.
